Happy Summer!

We had our first real summer weekend here this weekend - today marks the official start of the season and it was HOT! It was also our first weekend home in a while where we could really get some things done. I had a long to-do list starting on Friday - we didn't get it all done, but made a nice dent and still enjoyed some relaxing downtime too =)

We've been spending lots of time listening to music on the patio which Ellie loves to dance to! Here are a couple dancing shots - one from last weekend w/ Grandma and this weekend all on her own.





Yesterday it was really hot and humid here, so Ellie spent much of the afternoon in her swimsuit. She was in and out of her little pool all day long and loving the fact that she didn't have a diaper on!







Javi came over for an evening bbq - Ellie definitely kept him busy! Here they are swinging together.

This is Ellie's gift that she made at daycare...she also got Daddy some nice new work clothes =)



And, another not so exciting to-do that came about this weekend. This is what WAS our front landscaping. Long story short, we've had water issues since moving into our house (we seriously have the worst luck with sewers and septics) - no major catastrophes but preventative maintenance was a must. We finally got the problem fixed which involved putting in a new pipe to drain from our sump pump to the city water line. UNFORTUNATELY, the line ran right under our front landscaping. We knew there'd be some damage to the yard, which there is, but this was not planned. So, another project, but this one will take some time as the dirt needs to settle in again (and we have wonderful rock solid clay right now). Hopefully we get some rain to speed things up, but we're definitely going to have this eye-sore for a little while yet.
