21 Months!

Emmit is 21 months old now, and while he's definitely still our baby, he's such a little BOY now too! Emmit is into everything these days and always wanting to do what his sister does. He likes drinking out of a big cup, sitting at the table, opening things on his own, and just about anything else Ellie does - Emmit wants to do. He LOVES playing outside, riding his bikes (he puts his feet up and goes zooming down the driveway), and playing with any kind of ball. Emmit is a bit fanatical about balls - he knows the difference between a football, a basketball, and a soccer ball. He's really good at kicking and throwing - hard and accurate! His favorite thing to watch on TV is Sportscenter! He could care less about cartoons, but if Sportscenter is on (or any basketball for that matter) - he'll just sit and watch all content. Of course, Daddy loves this! Emmit also loves cars, trucks, buses, trains, and airplanes, and he'll point them out when we're outside. School buses are a favorite thing to spot. Possibly even more than basketball, Emmit loves puppies! He has about 10 stuffed puppies scattered around the house, and if it were up to him, he'd sleep with them ALL. He's almost always carrying around at least 1 puppy. He likes to walk around the neighborhood with Mama and look for puppies, and is totally in love with Lexie, our neighbor dog.

Emmit doesn't talk too much, but he's still very good at letting us know what he wants. He's mostly talking in single words, but has a couple 2-word phrases as well. He has the cutest inflection in his words which will tell you right away how he's feeling about something! Talking is definitely something he's doing more and more now though. Emmit's most used words include, 'Mama', 'Daddy', 'Ellie', 'puppy', 'ball', 'basketball', 'More (milk, puppies, read)', 'blue nummy' (Emmit's very particular about his nukie, ONLY the blue one will do!), 'bus', 'truck', 'do do' (donut), 'UH uh' and 'uh HUH' (usually with the emphasis like that), 'elmo'...and probably more that I'm missing. He's talking a lot more now it seems!

Emmit has the softest baby skin, and I just love kissing him! He also has quite a bit of baby chub left, but I can tell that he's thinning out now 'cuz his pants button a lot easier than they used to =) He's had 4 hair cuts already (2 more than his sister!), and loves both his Mama and Daddy. Emmit is still a Mama's boy, but lately he's taken more of a liking to Daddy too. Lately at bedtime he'll ask for one of us, and then as we're finishing up stories or something, he'll then ask for the other...little stinker already knows how to drag out bedtime! He's telling us when he poops now, and has a sudden interest in the toilet. One time I asked him if he wanted to go on the potty so we went, but he just stood there looking at it...not ready for that yet. He does like to throw stuff in the toilet though. He's still a climber and a jumper and takes his share of diggers. I'm really looking forward to having lots of fun outside with both Emmit and Ellie this summer - they are both very active! Next update and our baby will be 2!

Mother's Day 2011

My Mother's Day weekend was fun, going to our friend Melissa's baby shower, spending time with my Mom and Grandma, and spending time with the kids.

Ellie was very proud of her gifts for me this year. She also completed a survey at school that was all about Mom. Here are her answers to the Mother's Day survey...=)

1. What is your Mom's name? Stacey
2. How old is your Mom? 7
3. What is your Mom's favorite food? Macaroni and cheese
4. What is your Mom's favorite color? Purple
5. What makes your Mom laugh? Macaroni and cheese
6. What makes your Mom sad? Emmit hitting her
7. What is something that your Mom always tells you? Bad words when I hit (She apparently had hitting on her mind!)
8. What does your Mom do while you are at school? Goes to work
9. What is your Mom really good at? Playing basketball
10. What do you love about your Mom the most? Mommy helps me when I want my day

This is the necklace Ellie made me. I wore it one day, but later that day she ate it so that was the end of that! =)

We recently bought a tent and the kids got new sleeping bags too. They both love them...we are going to attempt camping this summer hopefully!

And last a cute video of the kids...what's not to love? =)

Videos!

I've been having some technical difficulties uploading vidoes lately, so am going to do a little catching up since I got the problem fixed today (thanks to my own personal computer guy!) =)

Going back to Easter, Ellie, Stephi, and I having fun coloring eggs =)

Ellie and Max checking out their Easter baskets

And Emmit loving his candy =)

And back at home, Emmit having fun on his new bike. He loves all the sounds it makes!

And last but not least...I took this a couple weeks ago. This has become an after bathtime ritual. We have to keep an eye on Emmit though, he's peed on the floor more than once with the combination of fun and cold air after a bath! =)

Playing Outside

We're pretty much outside every chance we get now. It's finally warming up, yeah! =) The kids both recently got new bikes so we've been spending a lot of time in the driveway. Kicking the soccer ball around is also a lot of fun. Emmit is a bit obsessed with balls, and while he still struggles with some one-syllable words, he can pretty clearly say - and tell the difference between! - a 'basketball', a 'football', a 'soccer ball', and a 'baseball'. His favorite thing to watch these days is SportCenter which Daddy sure loves! =)

Ellie loves her new bike! She is very good at riding it too!

"Mama, put the camera away!"

Emmit's favorite thing to do is put his feet up and just cruise down the driveway. Colin and/or I usually just stand at the end and catch him at the bottom. Our driveway has somewhat of an annoying slope so it's great for going DOWN the driveway, but that's about it!

Cruising down the driveway on his CAT truck

Emmit on his new Diego bike! Emmit wasn't even walking last spring/summer, so all of our outside stuff was pretty much 'girl stuff'. Emmit finally got his own bike though so he doesn't have to ride the Barbie bike anymore =)

Our big boy! He still seems so 'baby' in some ways, but totally toddler in others!

Easter Weekend Fun

In addition to the Easter Bunny bringing lots and lots of treats, our Easter weekend was full of lots of other fun too! The Saturday night before Easter, Sara was inducted into the UP Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of her all-star basketball playing days! The banquet was really nice and all the inductees' speeches were great! Sara was the first athlete to have received a scholarship from the Hall of Fame as a high school senior, and then be inducted into the Hall of Fame as well! Congrats sister - we are very proud of you and loved watching you play!

And more good news too...just this past week Sara and Matt got engaged! We're very excited to have another family wedding ahead of us and to welcome another brother to the family! Love these two!

Sisters at the banquet

And with Mom and Dad too!

Grandma - love her!

And Colin and I =) The kids stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Pomeroy's so it as a nice night out for us =)

Easter morning was beautiful and we had some time to spare, so we played outside a bit. Colin asked Ellie if we should go for a walk, and her response was, 'we should go on a safari!', so that we did! After playing in the sand and walking the woods, the kids were all dirty for more Easter festivities, but oh well =)

Colin hitched a ride home with Steph and Mike, so the kids and I stayed an extra day just to hang out at my parents. The Monday after Easter was another beautiful day, and we were outside enjoying the sun. The kids were just in their pjs running around and having a great time. My Mom, Aunt Debbie, Ellie, Emmit, and I had a fun pajama picnic lunch to finish up our great weekend at home. The kids thought this was great!

Sugar Buzz (aka Easter Weekend)

The Easter Bunny was sure good to the kids this year. We celebrated Easter over and over again (at each Grandparent's house) and had lots of candy by the end of the weekend to show for it! After all was said and done, we came home with 6 baskets, and it took a couple days to come down from the sugar buzz! Mama quickly took over half the candy to work where all her friends were happy to dig in! =)

First it was Easter at Grandma and Grandpa Boyer's

Ellie, Stephi, and I colored eggs...it was record egg coloring as Ellie lost interest pretty shortly after we started so Steph and I were speed colorers then! =)

Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Pomeroy's. Matthew and Maxwell came over too so it was a wild and crazy candy and basket finding morning!
