The drive through the UP wasn't great, but it only got worse the further south we went (definitely not the norm!) This is the view coming into Menominee...no, we are not in the middle of the woods - this is a 2-lane highway!
The plan was to stop for lunch in Menominee. Steph and Mike and Sara, Shannon, and Andy were in seperate cars so we were all meeting up to continue our caravan. Well, it only took 7 stops and us getting to Oconto before we found someplace open (2 places closed as we were walking up to the door) AND with power - Mickey D's it is! It felt so good to get out of the car! Ellie and Emmit REALLY thought so too! I really can't complain - they both did great considering how miserable the ride was.
After our lunch break, continuing down the Interstate...kind of looks like a snowmobile trail. As you can see, we were the only crazies on the road - us and the snow plows! It was SLOW and steady the whole way.
And, what we came home to. We were hoping one of our neighbors would come through like they have in the past, but no such luck this time. The pile at the end of our driveway was up to my chest. We had to run the kids up our neighbor's driveway and across the yard (which was only knee deep) into the house. This was the view out from our garage before Colin fired up the snowblower. That's our car out on the road.

Glad you were all able to make it back safely - and I am so glad we didn't get that much snow!
