A Week of Firsts

First the good...SLEEP! After 6 months, Emmit is sleeping! Up until last weekend we were still getting up 2-3 times most nights. Emmit was NOT a good sleeper. It was recently taking its toll on the whole house - Ellie was waking up too early (because she'd hear brother up)...crabby and tired kids (and Mama and Daddy too) from morning to night...nooooo fun! So last weekend was 'training' time for Mr. Emmit. He did just fine, cried of course, but nowhere near as bad as I remember Ellie doing it at 9 months. And now, the last 5 nights have been peaceful nights. He is sleeping like a champ and what a difference a week makes! I think I went the whole week without someone telling me I look 'tired' =)

And our other first, not so fun...puke =P Wednesday night Ellie didn't want to eat dinner. We thought she was just tired, but shortly after we got done with dinner, in the living room she threw up all over the floor. Clean up, change clothes, settle down...sitting on the couch with Daddy and....puke again, all over Daddy's lap and the couch. Clean up, change clothes, settle down on the other couch now with a blanket over the couch and a bucket and...puke again, mostly in the blanket, but not at all hitting the bucket. Clean up, change clothes, settle down...2 more time she threw up, but these were IN the bucket thankfully...after all this (over the course of about 2 hours), Ellie was very tired and pretty much went to bed. She slept alright that night, and didn't get sick again thankfully. We aren't really sure what was going on - maybe she ate something bad? Who knows...she was back to herself the next morning, but stayed home with Daddy for a day just in case. As NOT fun as this was, I've had several people tell me we're lucky to have made it 2 years without any throwing up...hopefully we make it another 2 now!

Ellie in one of her new nightgowns. She loves her nightgowns, but we have to add unmatching pants underneath because she likes to take her diaper off if she doesn't have pants on! And her princess shoes too...



Happy Emmit in his bouncer - this picture was EARLY in the morning - I can tell it's still dark outside and he's in his pj's. We still have early mornings in this house, but not AS early anymore, yahoo!
