House Update
Just a quick update on the house; unfortunately, I spoke too soon in my last post. The offer on our buyer's house fell through yesterday due to issues that came up in the home inspection. They're now taking their house off the market to address the issues. So, unless we have a new buyer/offer come along in the next 2 weeks we won't be moving (and we'll lose the house we made an offer on). We said from the beginning that if our house didn't sell by Nov. 30th we would take it off the market until after baby girl was here. Don't want the stress of moving over the holidays or take the chance and then baby girl wants to come earlier than Feb. 6th. We're obviously disappointed with everything, but knew this could happen. We were just SO close which makes it that much worse. We need to meet with our realtor this weekend, but we'll likely plan to list our house again early next Spring - just kind of see how things go from here. One positive is that the buyers we had this time REALLY don't want to lose our house, and they're extending their contract so that when we do list again, we'll already one offer on the table. They just need to address the issues with their house so it can be sold. So, for everyone that's offered to help us move - thank you - but we'll likely be taking a rain-check 'til next Spring. We'll need you even more at that point! Until then, get ready for the holidays and baby girl!!

28 Weeks!
We hit a milestone this week officially entering the 3rd trimester - yeah! =) My belly seems to be growing by the week lately as I'm noticing little things becoming increasingly more difficult. Simple things like tieing shoes or just sitting up or forward aren't quite as easy as they used to be. With my growing belly I've also had some back pain. I think I pulled a muscle on my left side, so the littlest movements need to be done with a bit more caution. Lots of stretching and icing, and I even got a massage last week which was great!
Here's a new belly pic. My sister Shannon got me this shirt and I promised I'd wear it for the next picture =)

Baby girl is still a mover and shaker (and kicker and puncher I think!) I can feel her all the time, and sometimes can even SEE her activity now watching my belly. I haven't been able to really determine her schedule (or if she has one), but one thing's for sure - she's REALLY active at night. It's like everytime I wake up she's reminding me "Hey, remember me?!" which makes it a bit more difficult to fall back asleep. She doesn't usually wake me up (that's heartburn or having to pee), but since I've been waking up at least 3 times a night, I've come to appreciate sleep when I get it. 3 straight hours is heaven! Could say this is good preparation for what's to come when she's here!
We head to the Dr. again next week for a general check-up and the gestational diabetes test. It's pretty amazing to think that at just over 2 pounds, IF baby girl were born now she could feasibly survive on her own (granted she'd be very premature and would need a lot of medical assistance). All her parts are working on their own now, and with each passing week from here on out she'll just get bigger and stronger.
On the home front...I was hoping by this next post we'd be able to say our house is sold. Well, I can say that we are VERY close! Our buyers accepted an offer on their house last week, so now we're working through all the home inspections and financing for all parties involved. The inspection on our house cleared yesterday; today is the inspection on our buyers' home; and Sat. is the inspection on our new house. Assuming all inspections go well, all home sale contingencies can be removed, and we'd just be waiting on successful closure for each house which would happen at the end of the month. So, even though it's not a 'done deal' yet, we are gearing up to move at the end of November and hopes are very high. Stay tuned!

Happy Fall
It's officially fall here in Wisconsin. We went from an average of 70/80 degrees through most of September/early October to 50/60 the past couple weeks. Can't say I mind one bit though as I'm starting to notice some puffiness in my feet and legs and the cooler weather really helps with that. Despite the minor swelling, I've been feeling really good.
We had a Dr. check-up a couple weeks ago, and everything was looking right on track. My Dr. said my belly measurement couldn't be any more "average". At my apt. before that she thought I was measuring a little small, so apparently in those weeks in between I made up for it (this was the time period where my pregnancy became apparent to everyone as well). It was just like I woke up with a pregnant belly one day! =) Baby girl's heartrate was right around 130 like it's been the last several times. My next appointment will be in mid-November, and that'll be the one where I get tested for gestational diabetes. After that one, my appointment frequency will increase to about every 2-3 weeks. My Dr. thought since I haven't had ANY issues so far (knock on wood) she'd be comfortable with pushing it out to 3 weeks instead of 2, so we'll see if that sticks when the next apt. comes. It's been every 4 weeks up to this point.
We have started thinking more about names for our little girl, though haven't really come to a decision. I'm not sure how we're going to decide - maybe when she's here and we actually see her? We have about 6 names on our 'list' right now, and just to set the record straight "Polly" is NOT on there! For anyone that's been reading my comments, my mother has decided that she's going call baby girl Polly since I won't tell our top names (and she knows how much I LOOOVE that name - hint of sarcasm). Anyway, now she's got Aunt Sandy in on the fun too =) Baby girl's name will be our secret until she's here - as much as it tortures our mothers - sorry! =)
Some other exciting news for the Pomeroy family...Colin's brother Levi and his wife Lindsey are expecting their first baby next May! We are very happy for them and excited that our little girl will have a cousin so close in age! Come next Spring we'll have 4 Pomeroy cousins, Brendan being the oldest at 5, so he's going to have to show the little ones the ropes =)
That's about all for now. My Aunt Debbie will be proud - I made Krupsuu for breakfast today. It's a Finnish dish that she always makes when I visit her. I think the translation is "baked pancake", but my Grandma will correct me if I'm wrong =) Anyway, it's so good, and the timer on the oven is going off! Happy Halloween! =)

24 Weeks!
Well, almost 24 weeks, but since it's a rainy day in Wisconsin I thought I'd post an update today =)
I guess I can officially say I've 'popped'. I've had more people in the last few weeks (especially at work!) come up to me and say "When are you due?!" or "I didn't even know you were pregnant!" Although, I've really felt pregnant for months now, it's just become to apparent to EVERYONE in the last 3 weeks. Judge for yourself - new belly pic below....

Baby girl seems to be doing well. I haven't had a Dr.'s apt. since our ultrasound, but we'll have a check-up this Thursday. She's certainly an active little one - moving around all the time! My weekly updates say she's about the size of a little doll now, just over one pound. It's interesting to see the pictures of how a baby grows week by week, she's getting pretty cramped up in there! Of course I'll continue to grow and accomodate her, but it's no wonder babies reach a point of just wanting to get out! Imagine being cramped up in that position for 9+ months, no thank you!
No, this isn't me, but just thought I'd show what our little girl might look like all cramped up in there (although I think she's doing gymnastics half the time and not sleeping so peacefully like this baby!)

Sleeping has become a bit of a challenge for me (and Colin to some extent) - some nights are certainly worse than others. Sleeping on my back is no longer comfortable, plus my lower back has been really achy. Getting used to sleeping on one side or another is getting easier - of course I have the big body pillow taking up a quarter of the bed! I've had several people tell me that this is just nature's way of preparing me for sleepless nights ahead...
Yesterday we ordered our nursery furniture - a crib with matching dresser! It may take up to 12 weeks to come, but we'll find out how long for sure on Monday. We also completed our registry yesterday, so it was a fun day of planning for the arrival of our little girl!
A couple other things going on in our lives lately - as-if a new baby isn't enough? Well, first Colin is going to be starting a new job at the end of this month! After 7 years with the Technology Dept. for Pulaski School District, he accepted a new position as the Technology Director for the Bellin College of Nursing. Bellin Health System is a pretty big healtcare provider in this area, and their nursing school is also growing. Colin will have his work cut out for him with the new job, but it'll be an exciting new challenge that's he's excited to begin.
And second, and this is a big one too...we MAY be moving before baby girl arrives. I know, we're crazy - let's see how much we can cram into these next four months?! We put our house up for sale in early September, and within 2 weeks we had accepted an offer. The kicker is the offer is contingent on the buyer's selling their house, so now we're really in waiting mode (until Nov. 30th). We've also found a house that we're hoping to move to (accepted offer and everything), but again, can't do anything until our house sells. So, now we're patiently waiting for the dominos to fall - if they fall, and starting to prepare for a move. We're trying to move closer to the Appleton area, significantly cutting my daily commute to work. Now, it's just a matter of timing - whether we do it in the next 2 months or not until next Spring. Amazingly, I don't feel the least bit stressed from any of this...kind of just going with the flow...no matter where we are living we'll welcome our baby girl with loving arms.
