Memorial Weekend

As we always do, we spent Memorial Day weekend in Michigan this year, and as it always is, it was a very fun time! Saturday was spent playing outside and just enjoying the nice weather and everyone's company. That morning we visited a true farm-country tradition, the fur-and-feather swap which is held 3 times a year at the Holmquist Feedmill property. We went with no intention of swapping or buying anything, but Ellie loved it because it was pretty much a farm animal petting zoo. Ellie had lots of fun looking at baby chicks (we need to work on gentle touches with those!), rabbits, sheep, goats, and a variety of other things. The music being played was also fun to dance to! On Sunday, we spent more time outside and later in the afternoon went to our old neighbor's wedding. We had planned on bringing Ellie, but my Aunt Debbie offered to babysit, so it was a little bit of a night out for Colin and I so that was really nice! Monday was, you guessed it, more time outside, and then heading back home in the early afternoon. Because Colin and I are heading up again next weekend to spend time with his family, we decided it'd be a good week for Ellie to stay and hang out with Grandma and Grandpa. They agreed (no surprise!), so this week we are home alone, but getting lots done. Many to-do's on the list this week including, getting Baby Boy's room in order, getting Ellie's new bedroom furniture set-up, and shampooing carpets. On top of working and the usual household stuff (laundry!), we'll have a busy week!

Ellie had lots of fun getting 4-wheeler rides from Daddy, Auntie Shannon, Auntie Steph, and Grandpa. She was saying 'Weeee' all weekend long!

Some messy eating shots...she's really enjoying this cottage cheese and peaches!

Ellie also had A LOT of fun playing with Nelly and Rusty this weekend. She just loved chasing them around, feeding them, and playing outside. Here are a few videos Auntie Shannon took of Ellie talking about and playing with the pups.
