Deck the Halls

We've been getting in the Christmas spirit here in December. It took a while, but I finally started Christmas shopping. I'm mostly done now, but haven't wrapped a thing! We've also had some Christmas family fun.

We put our tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving. The kids helped, and continue to help as the weeks go on. Our tree has been decorated over and over again =) I think only two ornaments have been broken so far. Here's our tree...it looks crooked in this picture, but it's really not =) We also decorated inside and outside the house. The kids have lights and ornaments decorating their rooms too!

The weekend after Thanksgiving, Grandma Donna, Papa Herb, and Uncle Levi came down for a visit. The visit was a productive one as the boys worked in the basement a good chunk of the time (thanks guys!!) While they were doing that we had some cookie making fun on Saturday. The kids loved cutting their cookies out and better yet frosting and sprinkling! These cookies were made with love (and lots of finger licking, sprinkle eating, and a big mess, haha!)

We went to my work Christmas party this past Wednesday, and Santa was there. After the long agonizing wait in line, we finally got to the front!

About one night a week, our evening activity has been going for a drive around our town looking at Christmas lights. I had heard about this one display that was a little further drive, but it was all set to music and pretty cool. So we went to see that this past week. It was so worth it! The kids loved it, we sat parked outside these houses for at least 20 minutes watching =) I had read an article in our local paper about this display, apparently it takes 45 days to set up. It's all set to music on a local radio frequency, so if you turn your speaker up, you can hear what we were hearing in the car too =)
