Christmas 2012

We had a really great Christmas once again. Ellie and Emmit were definitely into the Christmas spirit this year, which made everything that much more fun. We also had a good amount of time off work, so it was great spending time with my family, Colin's family, and just the 4 of us, spread out over a week and a half. The weekend before Christmas we went to my parents. We ate and drank, the kids played, the adults played - it's always a good time when we're ALL home.

The kids had a blast opening gifts. As I was looking at these pictures, I realized I have way more pictures of Ellie. Emmit and Henry were not giving their best smiles as you can see. These two were crazy boys as always!

Santa paid a visit at my parents house too. Ellie kind of freaked out, but the boys were into it =)

Waving goodbye to Santa

I just love this picture of Ellie. She looks so grown up - her 5th birthday is right around the corner!

The evening of the 23rd then, we packed up and headed back home. We started having our own little Christmas at home last year, so this year made it a tradition with the second year. Christmas Eve day was pretty relaxing - we played outside and made cookies for Santa. The Betker clan came over for lunch so we exchanged gifts and visited with them for a bit too. In the evevning, we made a steak dinner and opened a couple gifts with the kids.

Ellie got this jewelry box which she just loved. She followed the pattern and put all the jewels on herself.

Emmit got an Angry Birds game which he also loved.

Saying cheers with their kiddie cocktails at dinner =)

After dinner we took our Christmas cookies and went for a drive to look at lights. Then it was a plate for Santa and the reindeer, a new Christmas movie, and the kids were off to bed. Mom and Dad enjoyed some brandy slush while waiting for Santa to come too =)

I expected Christmas morning to come much earlier than it did, but the kids slept in til 7:00 which was nice. They were very happy with all their gifts, especially their new bikes from Santa.

Later on Christmas Day then, we packed up and headed north again to Pomeroys. The kids of course had a great time opening MORE gifts, playing with their cousins, and sledding outside.

Ellie and Maxwell really had fun playing together. They kept wanting to play, just the two of them =)

Emmit got some new play-dough, and then took upon himself to turn into slime with a wet washcloth =) He was so proud that he thought of this all on his own =)

Pomeroy Family Christmas 2012

Me and Brendan - he's getting so big! Emmit wanted to do everything with Brendan and Aiden - they were very patient playing Connect Four with him =)

As we do every year, we also had a lot of fun sledding and playing in the snow.
