We had some serious rainfall here this summer. For a while, Ellie was enjoying the nightly walks down to the waterfall - aka - the neighborhood storm water run-off. We took this shot during one of the storms. We were fortunate to not have hail damage, though we were a tad bit worried. Ellie thought it was snowing outside, the hail was coming down so thick!
Riding bikes together on the patio. Since Emmit has been on-the-go, it's pretty funny how these 2 interact now. We learning lessons in sharing, taking turns, and not hitting or pushing...I think they love each other for the most part though =)
We also had some serious heat here this summer. We had several weeks of 90-100 degree weather. Combined with HIGH humidity and a lot of mosquitos, the fall coolness couldn't come soon enough! We did get a lot of use out of the slip 'n slide this summer though. One particularly hot day, Colin and Steph decided to put 2 slip 'n slides together (not sure where we got a 2nd one?) - the kids LOVED it!
We were very lucky to have Stephi stay with us for a while this past year. Ellie and Emmit love her a lot, and I think our guest bedroom will forever be 'Stephi's room' to Ellie =) We are very happy for her (and Mike too!) though, and knew she wouldn't be living with us forever. Colin and I got a little spoiled with another adult in the house - now we're back to 2-on-2 =) One of her last nights here, Steph and Ellie watched the Little Mermaid in her bed and ate popcorn. Ellie thought it was SO fun! =)

Our town has an annual end of summer parade. The kids had a ton of fun with our neighborborhood friends and Grandma and Grandpa too. Ellie wanted to wear the dumb political stickers on her shirt for days after!
