Labor Day Weekend & 1 Year Stats

Ok first things first - Emmit had his 1 year check-up last week, and no surprise he is a healthy little chunker! 32" tall/long - 95th percentile, 25 lbs - 60th percentile (which surprised me a bit because he is SO heavy!), and 49.5 cm head (off the chart!) - our perfect little big-brained boy! =)

Labor Day weekend we headed to Minnesota for a long weekend with family. We left Friday morning, and the kids traveled great. I took these shots on our way - ahh peace =) We really are lucky though, Ellie's always been a SUPER traveler, and Emmit's not too bad either. We stopped once during the 5 hour trip (both there and on the way back too!)

Our intent in first getting there was to take the kids to my cousin Krystie's wedding which was later on Friday afternoon. But, as we drove, we decided it would be much more enjoyable with just the 2 of us, so the kiddos went to Uncle Wellyn & Auntie Sue's for some fun instead =) Trust me, it was the right move - the wedding was outdoors and it was freezing! I was definitely still in summer mode, but the Minnesota weather that weekend shocked some reality into us. Ellie had to borrow Aiden's socks and jacket the entire weekend because I didn't even bring her any!

Krystie, the beautiful bride - congrats to her and Ryan!

Grandma and all her kids...Uncle Bob (father of the bride), Aunt Bev, Aunt Gretchen, My Mom, and Aunt Debbie

The rest of the weekend was just spent playing outside - at the park and with all the boys' fun toys. Colin and Wellyn went to the Twins game on Sunday, and then on Monday morning we packed up and headed home. Thanks Minnesota Pomeroys for another fun-filled visit! =)

Emmit got some fun new toys for his birthday

Ellie liked her new Dora toys too

Emmit was also really enjoying this little table and chair set

And what was he using it for...to stand on...

And reach the phone! Emmit is obsessed with telephones and remote controls right now!

And the biggest hit of the weekend - the John Deere trucks. It took Ellie a little while to get the hang of the gas pedal, but once she did, it was SO funny. She was cruising all around the cul-de-sac - driving really is not her strongest skill right now - watch out!

Look out!

The battery didn't work in Emmit's vehicle, but he was very content just sitting there honking the horn =)

Brendan showing us some fancy tricks!
