15 Months

In the last 3 months, Emmit has become more of a little boy and less of a baby. At 15 months, he's all over the table food - gave up the bottle no problem. We didn't even really have to try, he just pushed it away. Emmit LOVES to eat! He seriously eats anything and everything, but some of his favorite things are bananas, graham crackers, noodles, applesauce, yogurt, carrots (not beans!), anything you can dip stuff in (ketchup, ranch dressing, hummus), bread, fruit snacks...he's a very good eater! He's even been stubborn lately and wanting a real cup (not a sippy cup) because he sees Ellie using one. Of course, he spills it all over, but insists on using himself too. As much as Emmit likes eating, he also equally loves throwing his food at every meal!

Emmit is very quick on his feet now, and just loves running and being chased. He's very good at taking something away from Ellie and then turning around running =) He's also quite the climber now, and has figured out that if something is out of reach, he can push the kitchen chairs around to get what he needs. Between Ellie and Emmit, our kitchen chairs and stools are never where they should be lately.

Emmit is talking a little...'Mama', 'Uh oh', or the favorite combination of 'Uh oh Mama' =) He also says 'Thank you' very politely and 'all done'. With only a few words though, Emmit is finding ways to tell us what he wants. He is a master pointer - the finger point combined with a 'uh uh uh' seems to work. He signs 'more' and also shakes his head 'yes' (Uh huh) and 'no' (Uh uh). Asking him yes and no questions seems to work pretty well, he tells us what he wants one way or another! =) His latest thing is shaking his finger at you saying 'uh uh uh' (No, No, No) which he learned from Grandma =) He also hums the song twinkle, twinkle little star...it's really funny, you can totally tell what he's singing =)

Emmit LOVES music and dancing and has some crazy dance moves as you've seen =) He also loves peek-a-boo and playing hide n' seek with Mama, Daddy, and Ellie. Pretty much any rough-housing or running around the house with Mama, Daddy, and Ellie is fun. He's really liking his books and pushing cars and trucks around the kitchen floor now too. He, for some reason, hates the magnets on the refrigerator and insists on taking them all off and throwing on the floor =) He's also a master as knocking down blocks. He's liking coloring a lot lately too since that's Ellie's latest obsession, and he seems to want to do whatever she does =)

At his 15 month check-up Emmit was healthy as can be. We've been very lucky, he's really not been sick at all, minus a few colds. Even starting daycare again a couple months ago, he's stayed healthy. I think he's going to be tough! He just got over his first ear infection which he barely even reacted to. His stats at 15 months are 31 1/4 " tall (50%), 26 lb, 9 oz. (50%), and 50 cm (97%). He had a mouth full of teeth now (just a few left to come in and they're right under the gums). Emmit is also verging on his first haircut! He has WAY more hair than Ellie did at this age, she still has yet to have a haircut. I think I'll take them both one day soon.

Here are some shots of our happy little boy!

Totally obsessed with electronics - phone, camera, remotes, computer, satellite dish, DVD player, anything with buttons to push! He's a master at recording things on the DVR =)

Mmmm...yogurt!

Loving his sister!

Emmit loves his blankie and nummy. At any given time, Emmit is carrying around 1-4 blankies...he has several!

Vaccuuming is a chore he likes to 'help' with!

Another favorite pasttime, transferring things from the refridgerator door to the drawers and back and forth =)
