Ellie and Emmit are very into their 'jobs' lately. Ellie's job - throwing things in the recycle bin - is one that she likes a lot. If we have anything to put in there, we just have to set it on the edge of the counter, and she'll take care of it. Emmit likes to help with this too, but his more favorite job is throwing things in the garbage can. We recently took the child-latch off our kitchen garbage can, so now instead of throwing everything in the bathroom cans, Emmit can throw things in the kitchen too. After getting his diaper changed, he's very quick to pick it up and bring it to the garbage can =) With all the snow melting lately, Ellie's really taken notice to all the trash on the ground outside. She frequently reminds us that 'we don't throw paper on the ground, we only throw it in the garbage!'
Emmit's also a vacuum fanatic. He is very 'helpful' whenever the vacuum comes out, and doesn't like to let his sister take a turn! Ellie likes to dust and wipe things off with baby wipes. The glass on the living room table is always streaky from all her 'cleaning up'. We've tried having the kids help with laundry (match socks), but that usually ends up with them playing in the basket. The joys of cleaning with 2 toddlers! =)
