Summertime at Home

We've been home for almost a week and a half after our vacation in Michigan, and Ellie is finally getting back on her 'normal' schedule, hooray! The first week back to daycare was a little rough, going back after over a week off, and she was also transitioning to a new room. Ellie is now in the 'Middle Infants' room, and there's much more going on in there! More babies and more activity, and Miss Ellie has just decided she no longer likes to nap! So, needless to say, our whole sleep schedule has been a bit off. No naps during the day, means early bedtime, means early morning wake-up calls for Mom and Dad! We almost got to our normal 8:00 tonight though so we'll see how she does. Before we went on vacation she was a SUPER sleeper, so we're making our way back to that.

Ellie has suddenly become much more mobile in the last 2 weeks. She does complete 360s on her tummy and can sort of propel herself forward or backward. We've caught her up on her hands and knees a couple times, but she can only make one movement forward and then she falls back down. She's rolling over completely now - finally figured out how to get off her tummy! She's all over the place in her crib and on the floor - things are no longer out of reach. She's also figured out that she can pull the bumper down in her crib and look over it. I've caught her doing this a couple times and it's pretty cute. Doesn't seem it'll be long before we need to do some baby-proofing in the house!

We're still experimenting with solids. She's definately figured out the spoon now and loves her food! She likes to put her hand on the spoon and 'help'. Beans are her favorite thing right now! Cereal isn't so popular, but mix it with beans and it goes right down. Here are some recent shots...

I came back from the hair salon last Friday with about 5 less inches and 3 shades blonder =)

Mmmmmm, beans....
