Christmas 2008

As always we had a wonderful Christmas at home with family. With wedding weekend combined, Ellie and I were in Michigan for 10 days which was really nice. Colin had to come home and work a couple days in between the wedding and Christmas, but still had a nice long weekend off. First we were at my parents, making sugar cookies, wrapping gifts, and just hanging around home the days leading up to Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve we went to church with the Pomeroys and then to my Grandma & Grandpa Boyer's after for dinner and gifts. Christmas Day we were at my Grandma Holmquist's and then to Pomeroy's again for the rest of the trip. Ellie had A LOT of fun her first Christmas. She liked opening gifts (putting bows and paper in her mouth), playing with her Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and Grandparents, staying up past bedtime, and tasting sweet treats she doesn't normally get to eat! We all got a lot of nice gifts and had a lot of fun with family. Here are some shots from our trip home. I also added a 2008 slideshow in the post before this - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We got so many nice gifts, but I wanted to post a picture of this one. Back in October our TV broke, so we got a new one, but did not have a stand to put it on. So, we had it on a little table with two kitchen chairs tipped on their side around it (so Ellie couldn't get the cords) - yes it looked great as you can imagine! We looked high and low for a stand, but when we asked for a corner unit with 2 glass doors, and a cherry stain finish the salespeople in the furniture stores looked at us like 'Good luck with that!'. Well, we did find one online, but it was MUCH more than we wanted to spend. So, long story short, Colin showed the picture to his Dad, and he built it for us for Christmas! It turned out so nice and our living room is back together! Yeah!

Happy New Year Stacey, Colin, and Ellie!! I love the slideshow of your year as a family. And the TV stand is a beautiful piece of furniture for your home too.

Have a wonderful 2009!

Aunt Gretchen

She was such a good little girl over the wedding and Christmas. So cute and at such a fun age. Love your little slideshow also.
