Ellie's biggest milestone at this age is her NON-STOP talking. She talks and talks and talks. She amazes me with the words that come out of her mouth and even talks in short little sentences at times. She likes to talk in 3rd person...'Ellie eat', 'Ellie ride', 'Thank you Ellie' when she does something nice, and 'Bless you Ellie' when she sneezes. She also likes to report what Emmit is doing...'Emmit spit', 'Emmit sitting', etc. etc....when Ellie's awake, we never have to wonder what Emmit's doing =) The words she knows are too many to count, but she does say a few funny things to mention...
'OH NO' - very dramatically anytime she drops something
When you ask her a question that has choices she'll say 'How about...' first (got this from Mama)
'Hey Buddy' to Emmit (like Daddy)
Ellie rarely says 'yes', but she does say 'yeah', 'yep', 'alright', 'mmmhmmm', and 'ok' all the time
She talks about her friends a lot, and will rattle off their names if you ask her. Her friend Austin went through a biting phase, so when she comes to Austin in her list, it's 'Austin bite!'. I'm sure there are more funny words that I'm not thinking of right now....she's talking ALL the time.
Ellie definitely has some favs at this age...Yo Gabba Gabba of course, playing outside, playing on Daddy's iphone and the computer, stickers and coloring, reading 'stories', listening to music, jumping, playing with friends, and dancing. She's still a good eater and will drop just about anything for ice cream, bananas, or fruit snacks. She likes a lot of healthy stuff too, but seems to have her Mama's sweet tooth =)
Literally, just in this last week, Ellie has taken an interest in the potty (talking about it a lot!). We had decided we weren't going to even start this until after the holidays, but apparently that's not soon enough for Ellie. She's peed in the potty a few times already, and likes to sit and try to poop, but no success so far. Flushing the toilet, using toilet paper, and washing hands are all part of the fun too. So, it looks like we'll be graduating to Pull-Ups now.
Ellie definitely went through a transition with the arrival of little brother. She was quite the little terror for a few weeks and still has her moments, but she seems to have come around a lot now and shows Emmit a lot of love. She's kissing him a lot and sharing things. She says 'Bless you Emmit' anytime he sneezes. She can sure turn on the sweetness when she wants to =)
Here are a few shots of Ellie doing some of her most favorite things! =)
Sleeping in the car with one of her Yo Gabba Gabba books
Being silly at the dinner table
This is the 'super happy face'...she just clenches her fists and grits her teeth..

Sharing some ice cream with Auntie Steph at Grandma's birthday party
