2 Months Old

Emmit is two months old! The last two months have certainly gone fast, but at the same time, I feel like he should be older at times! His Dr. check-up today confirmed what I already knew - he's a big boy! He is 14 lb, 7 oz (93rd percentile), 24 inches long (90th percentile), and 40 cm head (50th percentile). He has almost completely grown out of 0-3 month clothes already - definitely into the 3 month and even some 3-6 month. He's chubbing up a bit too...the rolls on his legs and under his chin are growing =) Emmit continues to be a really laid-back baby. He cries when he's hungry or if he's tired. He goes to sleep pretty easily (for Mama) and has given us some great nighttime sleep stretches already. He's pretty inconsistent with the nighttime sleep - for example..Sunday night he slept 8 1/2 hours (awesome!), but then last night he was up every 3 hours (pushing and grunting all night and the 2 poops this morning confirmed what I thought the problem was). He continues to just go with the flow of our household without much problem. He got his first immunizations this morning too, and as expected it was a painful process, but he bounced back quickly. I WISH he could get a flu shot, but babies under 6 months can't. I'm a little paranoid with all the flu hysteria right now...want to put him in a bubble for a few months, but of course that's not an option. He'll start daycare in 3 weeks so we'll see what that brings.

Emmit's favorite things right now include being talked to, being held, kicking on the floor, staring at his star, and sitting in the vibrating papasan chair. He's actually pretty content with any sort of white noise so the shower, fan, hair dryer combo works pretty well when Mama's getting ready in the morning =) Other than that, he likes to eat and sleep, and spit...maybe he doesn't like that but he does it enough, it's probably worth mentioning! He'll talk to you if you talk to him, and he smiles a lot - he's a happy little guy!
