A Week in the UP

Last week, Ellie, Emmit, and I spent almost a whole week (Tues-Sun) in the UP visiting family and friends. It was a WONDERFUL week, and something I never get to do. It was perfect to take advantage of the opportunity now while I'm still off work. We literally spent the entire time catching up with friends and family. Emmit met some of his Great-Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins for the first time. Ellie had a blast playing with everyone. It was so nice for me to see everyone without having to cram it all into a weekend. We probably won't be heading home again until the holidays (which are chaotic and busy) so this nice relaxing visit was just perfect!

We visited our friends the Laginas on Wednesday. Ellie loved playing in all the leaves in their yard and with a new selection of toys. Carson and Brent are doing great in school, and we got to greet them off the school bus. Luke is growing so fast - he is the smiliest little boy! It was so nice to see Sara and catch up in person - we have been friends since we were young girls in Sunday School and even though we don't see each other that often now, we seem to pick right up so easily.

Saturday was a big day for our family. It was my Grandma's 86th birthday, and everyone came to celebrate (Aunts, Uncles, cousins, the whole bunch). It was such a FUN day getting everyone together - I love my family, we always have so much fun =)

We did put 86 candles on a cake...I think we sang Happy Birthday about 5 times as the candles were lit and then 2 times more after. Ellie loved helping blow them out.

Both kids got spoiled all weekend by their Aunties! Emmit's not too happy here!

We spent some time on Friday and Sunday at Grandma & Grandpa Pomeroy's too.

Ellie had lots of outside fun everywhere we went. My parent's dog, Nelly, got totally spoiled (what Ellie ate, Nelly ate), and Ellie threw the ball too!

Colin came up for the weekend too, and Saturday morning, he and I took Ellie and cousin Anna to Sugarloaf Mountain for a hike. Colin and I both absolutely love Marquette (would live there if there were any jobs)...we hadn't hiked Sugarloaf in years, so it was a fun time for us and the girls too! We missed the peak colors, but still had some wonderful views.
