5 Months

Well since I was a few weeks late on Emmit's 4 month post, I'll make up for it and do 5 months a day early =) (And because both kids are sleeping, and I have a minute to myself!)

So, Emmit is 5 months tomorrow...he's sure a growing boy! Our big milestone this past month has probably been eating solids. Emmit loves his cereal - both rice and oatmeal. He also loves his veggies - we've tried sweet potato, beans, and peas so far. Fruits - well, they haven't gone over as well EXCEPT for bananas. He couldn't get enough of those. Pears and applesauce were a bit too tart for his tastebuds though...every bite seemed to come right back out! He's been eating cereal and fruit in the morning and cereal and veggies in the evening for the past several weeks now, and he seems to really like it.

Emmit likes to be on his tummy making diaper changes a bit more challenging these days. He wants to roll over right away. Getting him dressed can be quite the fight too.

He loves to be upright looking around at everything. So when we're not holding him, we have a saucer upstairs and a jumper downstairs so he's content in all areas of the house. He loves the little toys on both, and is really exploring things with his hands. He also loves sitting in the highchair which is making mealtime more enjoyable for everyone. We can all sit together for a meal again.

Emmit smiles, giggles, talks, and continues to be a happy boy!

Of course the first bites of food came with some ugly faces!
